Switch-Off.com follows the transition from analog to digital television. In particular, the following issues are covered:

  • the technology enabling digital interactive television
  • the market for digital television and television-based future applets
  • the regulation of digital television and its legal framework
  • the transition from analog to digital television broadcasting
  • the use of auctions to assign and re-assign radio frequencies
Switch-Off.com also serves as an online supplement to my legal Ph.D. thesis. The book examines the developement and regulation of digital television in the United States and in Germany, followed by a detailed analysis and comparision of frequency allocation and assignment mechanisms under both jurisdictions.
